At the invitation of the World Health Organization (WHO), the World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies (WFCMS) sent Vice Chairperson, Mr. Zheng Qiming as its representative to attend the WHO World Health Day commemoration event held at the WHO Western Pacific Regional Office in Manila on April 7.        April 7 was established as World Health Day by the WHO in 1948. This year’s theme, "Healthy beginnings, hopeful futures", focuses on improving maternal and newborn health, calling on governments and health sectors worldwide to intensify efforts to end preventable maternal and newborn deaths and prioritize the long-term health and well-being of women.

Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) has demonstrated significant effectiveness in preconception and prenatal care. The WFCMS will continue to collaborate with its global member organizations and branches to fully explore and leverage the unique advantages of TCM in this field, promoting the greater role of traditional medicine in safeguarding a healthier future for humanity.
