Making WFCMS a Better Place Tomorrow - 2024 New Year’ s Message

Hello everyone! The year 2024 is just around the corner. On the occasion of bidding farewell to the old year and ushering in the new, we wish you all a happy New Year from Beijing, China.
 
In 2023, we successfully held the Fifth Congress of Members of the World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies (WFCMS) in Philippines, elected a new Board of directors and Board of supervisors, completed the transition of the old and the new, drew a new blueprint for the development of the WFCMS, and sounded the clarion call for the internationalization of Chinese medicine to take on a new journey of high-quality development.
 
Today's WFCMS participates extensively in global health governance and is committed to the international development, exchange and cooperation of Chinese medicine. In-depth cooperation with many international organizations, such as the World Health Organization, UNESCO, the International Organization for Standardization, and the United Nations Economic and Social Council, has actively voiced the voice of international organizations of Chinese medicine, and its influence has become more extensive and far-reaching.
 
Today’s WFCMS actively organizes academic exchange activities. The WFCMS has always been committed to promoting international exchanges and cooperation in Chinese medicine, and has successfully constructed a three-level international academic conference platform, namely, the World Conference on Chinese Medicine, the International Regional Academic Conference and the Academic Conference of Branches.
 
Today’s WFCMS actively studies and formulates international standards for Chinese medicine and expands international personnel training. In 2023, 29 new standards were established, including 21 international organization standards and 7 branch standards; 1 standardized technical report. In 2023, professional examinations such as traditional Chinese medicine, acupuncture, acupuncture, and medicinal diet, as well as international student examinations and senior professional title evaluations will be standardized, involving Chinese, Japanese, Portuguese and Spanish. The candidates covered 9 countries including Japan, South Korea, Singapore, the Philippines, Mexico, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay and Argentina, with a total of more than 200 candidates.
 
Today’s WFCMS actively promotes the construction of periodicals and information networks. There are nearly 20 websites and 50 websites in WeChat official account, with an average annual information release volume of more than 4,000. It is worth mentioning that the Chinese journal of World Traditional Chinese Medicine was selected as the 2023 edition of Peking University's Overview of Chinese Core Journals (referred to as Chinese Core Journals), and was successfully promoted to the recognized dual-core high-level journal in the industry, and it is also the youngest journal selected as dual-core. As a journal included in ESCI, the English journal of World Traditional Chinese Medicine won the first impact factor-4. 4 points in June 2023.
 
In 2023, it has been 20th anniversary of the founding of WFCMS. After 20 years of hard work, today's WFCMS has stood at a new starting point. WFCMS will continue to anchor its goals, work hard and move forward bravely, keep in mind its initial mission, and show the responsibility of Chinese medicine practitioners in the new era, so as to make WFCMS have a better tomorrow!
 
Tomorrow's WFCMS will consolidate and strengthencooperation with the international organizations, such as the World Health Organization (WHO), the International Organization for Standardization, UNESCO, and the United Nations Economic and Social Council, strive to consolidate the academic status of Chinese medicine as a medical science in the world, and promote Chinese medicine to enter the medical and health systems of various countries. Gradually build our society into a non-governmental organization with greater influence in the world.
 
Tomorrow's WFCMS will actively contribute to the "the belt and road initiative" initiative. Adhere to the Silk Road spirit of mutual learning and mutual benefit, strengthen Chinese medicine cultural exchanges and service trade cooperation with countries along the Silk Road and other countries and regions in the world, and strive to promote the international dissemination of Chinese medicine culture. Promote more Chinese medicine services and products to enter the international medical and health care market.
 
Tomorrow's WFCMS will strengthen organizational construction. Give full play to the leading role of the Council and build the Council into a strong leadership collective; According to the development of the situation and market demand, strengthen strategic research and grasp the healthy development direction of Zoomlion in the world; Strengthen the unity, mutual respect, communication and cohesion among members.
 
Looking forward to the future, the trip to the sun and the moon is brilliant, and we are full of confidence and expectation. WFCMS will continue to devote itself to the inheritance and innovation of Chinese medicine, deepen international exchanges and cooperation, and make the wisdom of Chinese medicine benefit more people. We will actively respond to challenges, seize opportunities and jointly write a new brilliant chapter in the cause of Chinese medicine.
