The Recommendation Notice of the Candidate of the Representatives of the Fifth General Assembly and the Fifth Council Board of WFCMS

 

       According to the Constitution of WFCMS, the term of the fourth council board  and its leading bodies has expired. And the fifth General Assembly will be held  from November 13 to 15, 2023 to fulfill the election for a new term. In order to recommend the representatives of the Fifth General Assembly and the Fifth Council Board of WFCMS, we hereby notify you of the following matters:

1.Selection of Member Representatives

       The candidates for representatives of the fifth general assembly of WFCMS are selected by society members and branches based on the recommendation conditions and quota of representative candidates.

A. Members of the society members and branches;

B. Comply with the Constitution, and have rigorous academic style and good morality;

C. Enthusiastic about association’ s work and actively participating in activities;

D. Have a strong professional ability, practical work style, and high popularity among people;

E. Have no record of violation of discipline or law, and full capacity for civil conduct.

(2) Recommended Allocation of Quota

A.   For societies with fewer than 100 members, at least 2 representatives should be elected; for those with 101-500 members, at least 3; for societies with 501-1,000 members, at least 4; for organizations with 1,001-2,000 members, at least 5; and for those with more than 2,001 members, at least 6 representatives should be elected.

B.   Each committee should elect 2 representatives, in principle, the president and the vice president or the secretary-general.

C.   All member of society member and branches participating in the 20th World Congress of Chinese Medicine can become representatives after passing the qualifications review by the Preparation Committee for the Election.

2.Selection of Candidate of Council member, Executive council member and Commissioner

       The candidates of Council member, Executive council member and Commissioner of the 5th Council Board of WFCMS are selected by society members and branches based on the recommendation conditions and quota of representative candidates.

A.President and the vice president or the secretary-general of society members or branches;

B. Have a great influence in their country/region;

C.Enthusiastic about the global development of traditional Chinese medicine, willing to actively work for its development, and have dedication and pioneering spirit, strong organizational and social activity abilities;

D.Have the time and financial resources necessary to attend WFCMS’ relevant meetings and carry out work;

E.Be healthy and able to work normally.

(2)Recommended Allocation of Quota

A.For society members with fewer than 100 members, 1-2 candidates should be selected; for those with 101-500 members, 2 candidates; for those with 501-1,000 members, 3 candidates; for those with 1,001-2,000 members, 4 candidates; for those with 2,001-5,000 members, 5 candidates; and for those with more than 5,001 members, it is necessary to select 6 candidates.

B.Branches should select 2 candidates, in principle, the president and the vice president or the secretary-general.

3.Recommendation of candidates for the Vice President of the Council Board

       Both society members/branches and the vice president/commissioner of the 4th Council board of WFCMS can propose the candidate for the vice president of the 5th Council Board of WFCMS based on the recommendation conditions and quota of representative candidates.

A.Adhere to Constitution, have rigorous academic style and good morality;

B.Have great influence in the field of Chinese medicine;

C.The maximum age of appointment is not more than 70 years old

D.Be healthy and able to work normally;

E.If the age is over the maximum age of appointment, they must be approved by the council, reviewed by the professional supervisory unit, and approved by the organization registration management agency before they can hold office;

F.The term of office shall be five years, and shall not be re-elected for more than two consecutive terms. If the term of office needs to be extended due to special circumstances, they shall be approved by the council, reviewed by the professional supervisory unit, and approved by the organization registration management agency before they can hold office;

Preferred criteria:

A.Have made significant contributions to development and have a high recognition in their country or region;

B.Enthusiastic about the global development of traditional Chinese medicine, willing to actively work for its development, and have dedication and pioneering spirit, strong organizational and social activity abilities;

C.Have the time and financial resources necessary to attend WFCMS’ relevant meetings and carry out work;

D.Willing to take on tasks and actively participate in work and activities of WFCMS.

(2) Recommended quota

A.Two vice president candidates are recommended by society members and branches, with only one candidate from this recommended unit.

B.In principle, one candidate is recommended by the vice president/ commissioner of the 4th Council board of WFCMS.

4. Candidate recommendation submission time

       The recommendation of candidate of the representatives of the Fifth General Assembly and the Fifth Council Board is a key task in strengthening the construction of WFCMS. Society members and branches are requested to attach great importance to it, and effectively implement democratic recommendations and relevant approval procedures, and conscientiously carry out the recommendation of candidate of the representatives of the Fifth General Assembly and the Fifth Council Board of WFCMS. By August 20, 2023, pls send back the electronic scanned copies of the signed and stamped Recommendation Form for Candidate of the Representatives of the Fifth General Assembly of WFCMS, Recommendation Form for Candidates of the Council Member, Executive Council Member and Commissioner of the 5th Council Board of WFCMS, and Recommendation Form for Candidates of the vice-president of the 5th Council Board of WFCMS to the International Liaison Department of WFCMS. This notice is published in the public announcement section of the official website of WFCMS and the recommendation form can be downloaded.
